What is Pinene?
α- and β-Pinene are found in pine trees, rosemary, dill, basil, and parsley.
Pinene is the most common naturally occurring terpene in the plant world.
Alpha pinene (αPinene) is more prevalent in cannabis than the beta pinene (β-Pinene) form. αPinene is said to be anti-inflammatory, act as a bronchodilator (helps to improve airflow to lungs), may help counter short-term memory loss, and promotes alertness. αPinene is unique is its ability to cross the blood/brain barrier, and may affect neurotransmitters in the brain to positively affect short-term memory.
Research shows it may inhibit the influence of THC, potentially easing the symptoms of anxiety or paranoia that some experience with cannabis use.
αPinene may also benefit patients suffering from arthritis, Crohn’s Disease, and cancer.
αPinene evaporates more quickly than other terpenes so as cannabis dries it starts to lose pinene faster than some of the other terpenes.
Dancing Goat Gardens features flowers and products with the terpene Pinene.

What is a terpene?
Terpenes are a large and diverse class of organic compounds, produced by a variety of cannabis strains. They often have a strong odor and may protect the plants that produce them by deterring herbivores and by attracting predators and parasites of herbivores.
